I thought it would be interesting to do a book promotion party by giving not only the name of your book and what it is about but also the opening paragraph.
I offer the following from Maledicus: The Investigative Paranormal Society Book 1 by Charles F. French:
“Lucius Antony Caius exalted in his good fortune. He was in complete control of his destiny, of his place in the world. Not for him was the belief in the three sisters of fate–they would not measure and cut his string of life. Caius, also known as Maledicus, as he was called because of his odd lisping voice coupled with the grating sound of sandpaper grinding on coarse wood and with his personality, believed he controlled the world. And his evil persona caused others to fear him. He didn’t look like the image of a strong Roman–he was short and fat, with little hair, but he was as dangerous as the most powerful general.”
So, if you would like to join the party and promote your book, please offer a quotation!
Have fun, promote your book, and please share this post.

My radio interview:

Thanks, Charles! I’ve written an epic fantasy novel titled Mystical Greenwood, which has magic, adventure, good vs. evil, forests, gryphons, dragons, unicorns, and a strong emphasis on the sacred value of Nature. My poetry, short stories, and essays have been featured in many anthologies and literary journals–these include a story about a hammerhead shark, a poem written in the style of The Raven, a fable about a mouse and a frog, and an essay about my experiences with Asperger syndrome. Hi Charles
My books is A Ghost and His Gold written under the name Roberta Eaton Cheadle. Here is the first paragraph:
March 2019
“These sausage rolls are amazing.” Carl stuffs another one into his large
mouth.
“Thank you, Carl,” Michelle smiles brightly.
The evening is going well, and Carl’s appreciation of her cooking skills
pleases her.
A strange sense of foreboding about this house-warming party has
bothered her all week.
There is something strange about this house, she thinks. I’ve seen such weird
things since we moved in; shadows of people who aren’t there, flickering movements with no apparent cause, and that hair. Yuck!
A shiver ripples up her spine, causing her hands to tremble slightly.
Nothing untoward has happened so just relax.
