  2. Thanks, Charles, for presenting another opportunity to emerging authors.

“The Bright Side of Darkness” follows a group of young men as they navigate their lives in the projects and beyond. It’s a novel about mentoring, a story of second chances. If you’re looking for a tale of redemption and resilience, this book might be your next great read.

“Daddy Won’t Let Mom Drive the Car: True Tales of Parenting in the Dark” is a mothering memoir that details some of my adventures as a blind mom. The short, mostly lighthearted vignettes are designed to show that while my blindness may change a few day-to-day logistics, it doesn’t alter the essence of what it means to be a family.

“Apples of Gold: Timely Advice When the World Doesn’t Seem Lovely” is a memoir of poems and short vignettes that focus on sifting the blessings out of difficult times–global pandemics come to mind. Gratitude is a surefire cure for grumpiness.

  9. Funny thing happened yesterday. Amazon refused to deliver a package to my front door as usual. Turns out, a malevolent spirit in one of the packages in the back of the truck had so spooked the driver, he hurled the package from which it emanated out the window and sped off. When my husband finally found the package against the side of the garage and I opened it up, inside was Maledicus by Charles French.
