Quotations From Ray Bradbury

“You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.”

“You must write every single day of your life… You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear books like hats upon your crazy heads… may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.”

“You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.”

“There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.”

“You fail only if you stop writing.”

  1. Love the quotes!! Love Ray Bradbury so much I keep “Bradbury Stories”, a collection of 100 of his stories, in my dining room, in my poetry, short story section – so they’re easily accessible while having coffee and breakfast. Nothing like starting a morning with dear friends who won’t keep you too long, or make you late for work in the studio.

  2. I was fortunate to have met him twice. He’s an amazing writer and how he loved talking about writing late into the night that his driver would remind him it was time to go home.

    Thanks for this.
I did a blog on Ray B. He couldn’t afford college, so he spent 10 years in the library educating himself. He…was…amazing. One of my biggest influences!
