Quotations On Nature

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.”

                                                                               John Muir

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As longs as this exists, and it certainly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.”

                                                                             Anne Frank

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”

                                                                  Henry David Thoreau

  1. I live to be surrounded by nature whenever I can. Like one of the commentators, I frequently listen to nature sounds when I am limited in where I can go. This is so wonderful. I wrote a post recently about the cycle of life, where I noted that my Milkweed plants were being totally devoured by some pretty caterpillars. I could have just stopped them by using some insecticide, but I decided to look them up because their markings were actually quite pleasing to the eye. As it turned out, they were Monarch caterpillars, and I shudder to think if one thoughtless act would have perhaps killed a lot of the most beautiful and treasured butterflies. And one week after ALL the milkweed leaves were devoured, I came out one morning and all the leaves were back on the trees. We must learn to trust nature to do what it has been doing on its own for perhaps thousands or more years. Thank you most kindly. So inspiring.
