With 2019 well underway, I thought it was a good time to have the next Promote Your Book Party!

I thought it would be a good time to share what you have been writing and what you have written. I want once again to offer an opportunity for all writers who follow this blog to share information on their books. It can be very difficult to generate publicity for our writing, so I thought this little effort might help. All books may be mentioned, and there is no restriction on genre. This includes poetry and non-fiction.

To participate, simply give your name, your book, information about it, and where to purchase it in the comments section. Then please be willing to reblog and/or tweet this post. The more people that see it, the more publicity we can generate for everyone’s books.

Thank you for participating!

Keep on writing, and have a wonderful year of writing!

Celebrate and promote your writing! Shout it out to the world! Let everyone know about your work!

Feel free to promote a new or an older book!

I hope this idea is successful, and I hope many people share information on their books!

I will continue to have this party every few weeks.

  1. A Journey of Faith: A Stepping Stones Mystery, written by Ann Harrison

Twenty-eight-year-old Becca Martin witnessed a tragic accident at the age of twelve. Sixteen years later, she embarks upon a journey that she believes has somehow been chosen for her by God. During this journey, she hears a voice in the back of her mind crying, “God help me!”, as memories she didn’t understand as a child begin to resurface in her nightmares and during the journey itself. Was this tragedy a freak accident, or is there more to the incident that meets the eye? The owner of Sweet Water State Park calls Zac Johnson and Jason Miller of the Tensiltown Police to investigate various incidents out on the bike and foot paths. During their investigation, Jason meets Becca along her journey and they both feel strongly drawn to each other. She longs to help the police of this small village investigate these incidents, but in order to do so, she must face her fear of climbing the rocks at Sweet Water Park, while caring for her ailing aunt and helping her uncle to run the diner. Jason vows to stay close beside her every step of the way, but can she fully trust him and the girl in the white robe that seems to pop up out of nowhere when trouble arises? Who is the real bad guy? How does God reveal what happened on that unforgettable day on the rocks with her family? Does the memory of the incident help the police solve this rock-climbing mystery? Find out more as the author pulls you into the first novel in her spine-tingling, heart-warming Stepping Stones mystery series.

Thank you again, Charles, for providing this promotion opportunity to authors. I’m sharing it on my Facebook page.

Rick Myers, who has just lost his parents in a car wreck, and the four teenage buddies he’s grown up with in the projects, don’t have much to count on besides each other. Then Rick meets Daisy, an intelligent, self-assured blind girl. Her hopeful outlook inspires him to begin believing in himself. But when the dark side of Daisy’s past catches up with her, tragedy scatters Rick’s friends and severely tests his resolve to build his new interest in a culinary career. Fortunately, his life is touched by a couple with a pay-it-forward attitude, forged out of their personal struggle with grief and loss. Their support makes all the difference to Rick and eventually, through him, to the ones he holds most dear. “The Bright Side of Darkness” is a story of redemption and the ultimate victory that comes from the determination of the human spirit.

  3. Thanks for hosting this kind of party! My name’s Sue Clancy: I’ve a printed art book called “Dogs by Sue Clancy” in which I humorously combine attributes of dogs with activities I enjoy. It can be found here: https://store.bookbaby.com/bookshop/book/index.aspx?bookURL=Dogs-By-Sue-Clancy
Even more recently I created a 56 page miniature book titled “A. Mouse’s Book Of Scraps” in which I, ahem, edited a book (cough) written by A. Mouse – you can read more about that and download a free ebook version of this artist book – the original of which is in the Brooklyn Art Library’s permanent collection – here: https://sueclancy.com/a-mouse-scrapbook-and-gift/

Thank you once again for the opportunity.

We have a middle grade mystery, The Ghost in The Gardens, published by Mirror World Publishing. The book contains a bonus short story that Mirror World is serializing on their blog.

Here’s the link to the serialized short story: https://mirrorworldpublishing.wordpress.com/2018/12/13/the-adventures-of-flower-girl-by-hl-carpenter-part-1/

And here’s the link to the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CV2GJZY/

Until the first spooky visit, ten year old Chrysantha Howe doesn’t think about ghosts. She thinks about plants.

    All.

    The.

    Time.

She has her future planned out, and that future includes plants. Chrys is going to be a plant scientist like her uncle and her favorite teacher, and she’s determined to find the very rare Coralroot orchid.

The ghost is not in the plan.

But when her teacher disappears and the police suspect her uncle was involved, Chrys has to figure out what the ghost is trying to tell her—before it’s too late.

  5. Mystical Greenwood is a high fantasy tale about the beginning of a boy’s journey of self-discovery as he enters an epic battle of good vs evil, and learns about the sacred mystical ways of the natural world around him and how he is part of it. Can he protect those he loves, or will all that is good and green be consumed by darkness? Find out!

The book is available in paperback, Kindle, and Nook; at Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, and Books a Million. Links to all of these sites can be found here on my website: https://andrewmcdowellauthor.com/publications/novels/mystical-greenwood/

  6. This is a wonderful idea. Thank you very kindly. I am primarily a non-fiction writer, and I enjoy giving a holistic context for things I write. So my book, Pumpkin, Pumpkin: Folklore, History, Planting Hints and Good Eating is so much more than a cookbook.

Pumpkins are magical. They herald in the autumn; they fulfill our needs to create art related to the season and to celebrate it. We fill them with light to welcome others to our homes, and to provide the way from home to home as we gather treats for the season. We have all kinds of celebrations for them from competitions for the largest or best pumpkin to the best decorated pumpkins to pie baking and pie eating competitions. We listen in awe to their amazing history and laugh at their folklore. We begin to invite friends and relatives to luscious dinners featuring this wonderful orange treat. Pumpkins warm our hearts as the autumn begins to bring the chill air. We invite you into the welcoming pages of this book, and to fill your souls with all the good things you remember, and your stomachs with the most delightful pumpkin treats.

The third edition of this book will be out as soon as I can finish proofing it, get it turned into a PDF file with fonts embedded and submit it to Amazon KDP.com once again. I will likely let everyone know on my blog, http://www.Allinadaysbreath.wordpress.com. Thank you kindly one and all.

  7. I’ll try mentioning my book here again, though last month’s attempt to embed the book cover failed:
    http://leanpub.com/applied_analog_electronics/embed

If doesn’t work again, I’d appreciate hearing how to get embedded book images.

My book is a college-level textbook on analog electronics, intended primarily for bioengineers who have no intrinsic interest in electronics. I’m selling the PDF version through LeanPub, in order to keep the cost to students down (currently $6). For self-publishing electronic-only books, LeanPub provides a pretty good deal for authors (80% royalties, author retains all rights). Their business model is also good for draft books, as buyers get free access to all future versions of the same book published through LeanPub.

  8. Thank you for this opportunity, Charles! I’ve tweeted and facebooked your post. My book is a novel called Telling Sonny. It tells the story of a son who became an afterthought:

“As far as Sonny was concerned, his father was a man of infinite charm, a man with that enviable quality, savoir faire. What was she to tell Sonny now?”

Precious Sonny, his broken mother Faby, and his Small-Time father Slim White await their readers on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2Q7mc9u .
