The Best and Worst Moments of Our Presidents

Standard

Among the best moments in the history of American presidents is the following quotation:

“And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you–ask what you can do for your country.”

                                      John F. Kennedy

                                      Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961

Among the worst moments in the history of American Presidents is from Trump’s submissive performance with Putin.  And I paraphrase:

“And so, my base, don’t ask what you can do for your country; ask what a foreign dictator, responsible for the deaths of many innocents, can do for you? What can I get out of it?”

  1. Although Kennedy’s speech was written by political speechwriter Theodore Sorensen, it was originally a common statement made by Dean Lebaron Briggs, Dean at St. John’s. He should not be remembered and praised for the work of others.
