“There are no rules of architecture for a castle in the clouds.”
G. K. Chesterton
“Love what you do and do what you love. Don’t listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life.”
Ray Bradbury
“Imagination is not only the uniquely human capacity to envision that which is not, and, therefore, the foundation of all invention and innovation. In its arguably most transformative and revelatory capacity, it is the power that enables us to empathize with humans whose experiences we have never shared.”
J. K. Rowling
Charles, this is profoundly true. Would we have cell phones? Maybe not, if it wasn’t for Star Trek! So many things we probably would not have today. A wonderful post! Thank you for posting! Karen 🙂

This is a wonderful post. I wonder if we would have cell phones, maybe or maybe not, if it wasn’t for Star Trek. Imagination for medical breakthroughs, industry, technology and life styles are enhanced with imagination!

Thank you, and I suspect that science-fiction has predicted much about our world, both positive and negative.

I love the quote from Ray Bradbury. It reminds of the oft-repeated (and misunderstood) quote from Joseph Campbell: “Follow your bliss.”
