Quotations by Teddy Roosevelt

“To announce there must be no criticism of the President, or that we stand by the President right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but it is morally treasonable to the American Public.”

“I believe that the more you know about the past, the better you are prepared for the future.”

“Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official.”

  1. I especially like the first statement. Which I believe is why (as heard at the Senate inquiries), Trump has picked many advisers that disagree with him. He doesn’t want “Yes-men” around – that serves no purpose.

  2. There’s got to be a middle ground for both sides to deal with issues, but not this projectile vomiting of personal ridicule that both sides are doing. And for kindness sake, leave the politicians’ families out of scurrilous attacks. They haven’t done anything to deserve that kind of treatment.
