On June 22nd, 1898, Erich Maria Remarque was born in the city of Osnabruck, in the federal state of Lower- Saxony, in Germany. He is the famed author of the classic novel, All Quiet on the Western Front (1928).

  1. Charles, this is wonderful. I read First Night Design’s terrific post, then read the whole thing which included D-Day, Al Capone, the Nicene Creed, and the Battle of Kosovo. History is yesterday, and we need to connect yesterday to today in order to learn and grow. I’m glad I do this all the time in my classroom. You do, too. Thank you for this.
