My answers for the questions from my nominator:

1.) What is your best childhood memory?

It would definitely be having a holiday dinner at my Aunt Judy’s house with all the family and friends there.

2.) If you could learn a language, which one would it be?

Irish–which is a language I am struggling to learn!

3.) If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

A photo of my wife and I; a volume of the complete works of Shakespeare; my writing journal; a pen my parents gave me as a graduation gift from college; and the cast iron frying pan that had been my mother’s.

4.) Who do you most admire in life?

Since I am uncertain if this means a person living or in death, I will go with J.F.K.

5.) Scuba Diving or Sky Diving?

This one is easy–I hate flying and love the water, so scuba diving!

6.) Do you have an embarrassing moment you have never told anyone else, if so what is it?

No, I don’t.

7.) What age do you feel right now and why?

That is a very good question–I am 60, but I feel like I am in my late 40s. Except for some aches and pains, I can still do more work now than I did in my 30s.

8.) If you could live in a movie or TV show, what one would it be?

The original Star Trek.

9.) If you could see one person in the world the last minute of your life, who would it be and why?

My wife. The answer is love.

10.) Comedy or Drama?

11.) If you could speak to everyone in the world at the same time, what would you say?

Try to recognize the value of all people, try to understand the need for acceptance of diversity in all its variations, and work for human justice.

  1. Thank you for the nomination, Charles! I appreciate it! Unfortunately it’s hard for me to find the time for award posts, especially since I try to keep my posts in line with my main topic. But I haven’t posted a “no awards” clause because I don’t want to disrespect those whose nominations I accepted in my earlier days by removing their awards. I also haven’t entirely ruled out award posts, in case I one day receive a nomination during a period when I have more free time. But I doubt I’ll be able to respond to this one, although I am grateful for it.

  2. Charles, my nomination is humbling. Thank you! I see that many of my fellow bloggers, those I would also nominate, are yours as well. We all must run in good company! Therefore, I will answer the questions here on your blog:

    1) I would visit the middle of America. I’ve never seen the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, and the landscape west of Ohio.
    2) My favorite book is “The Story of Dr. Dolittle” by Hugh Lofting.
    3) Coffee!
    4) Lunch, especially followed by a cookie.
    5) The most pressing issue (from my head) is getting our national debt under control; from my soul is educating (not teaching) children. Perhaps that should include all people.
    6) I’m a day person, yet I do my best writing at night. Now, how does that fit?
    7) Cookie.
    8) I love the 18th and 19th century; art, furniture, hardware, literature, and all the stories about settling our great nation.
    9) Live theater. After seeing “Oklahoma” when I was 10, I was hooked.
    10) Autumn, with it’s beauty and change. New England is the showcase of the season.
    11) Dog, especially black labs.

    I loved reading your answers!

To my fellow bloggers here, I have received one of seven awards for Early Educators in Massachusetts. My blog played a part in explaining what I do. Writing makes a difference!

Again, thank you Charles. You have set the ‘blogger bar’ for me. I have such great respect for you. -Jennie Fitzkee-
